I nabbed this super cute piece of Christmas fabric while I was at the Ames C.art Sew n’ Swap. I had entertained many project ideas. This week I finally made the leap and jumped feet first into tree skirt making.
I’ve been in such a holiday crafting mood lately. I need a larger tree–it’s getting loaded down with handmade ornaments. Time to switch to home decor Christmas crafts :) Here’s a free sewn stocking pattern just for you (and for me too!).
I’m excited about this project. It’s such a great way to use up scraps – this whole pile was from my “end run” type pieces. And then there is also the fact that it’s the first push towards re-doing the living room area… one area I have yet to tackle.

I ran though several ideas that were all overly complicated and overly costly. Time for a Redress project! I posted about it two Tuesdays ago and you all came to the rescue and helped me figure out a great way to splash some color around without splashing around cash.

My addiction to fabric means I have accumulated quite a stash of leftover scraps; pieces too small for most projects but too lovely to throw away.
All this leftover goodness can be utilized by making a table runner. As well as making your table look chic, a table runner is useful for protecting your table from hot pots.

Over Chirstmas break I went into a bag making frenzy. I made myself a market bag, my sister 2, and had plans for another for my friend. When she came over to pick out her fabric her daughter came along too. I told her that I would make her a market bag just for her. You know, kid’s sized. She picked out some awesome fabric and buttons for it. I whipped it right up and dropped it off at her house. I never did finish her mom’s bag. Her birthday in April for sure.
