Apartment Redress :: Laundry Days :: Part II

Laundry Hamper

I went to Lowes this morning and spent about an hour and half wheeling my cart from “lumber” to “plumbing” trying to decide “wood” or “pvc” for the hamper. Then I did the math. Pvc won out on ease of use, because of the tools I have on had, and money. Yep, it’s about 1/4 the price to do a similar design in pvc instead of wood. Like $15 compaired to $45. That’s a big difference. While in Lowes I happened to have my sketch book and pen and figured out this new design for the basic structure of the laundry bin:

I’m going to make two laundry bags that will hand in the middle section. Then i’m going to make two more smaller bags to hold laundry accessories.

It rained all day today and was pretty much just one of the drizzily, cold, blustery days. I’m hoping for a nice day Saturday after work or on Sunday. Then I can get out to the garage, really look around for the right cutting tools, and get this put together. In the mean time, I’m going to scrounge around for canvas to make the bags with.

In other news, Molly has been helping me with my knitting and most recently she’s found a new favorite sleeping spot. Great… that really isn’t too good for my warp tension. Good thing it’s just about finished up and it’s just a practice piece.

Craft Cat

I’m actually really happy to get it off the loom and start my next project. I’m going to do a series of twill combination samplers and really get my skills up. Just a lot of refreshing things that I haven’t done in awhile. I’m very happy that last night I successfully did a draw down of several twill patterns.

And on that note, I’m going to end this here and head to bed. I need to get up super early (for me anyway) so to bed I go!

Have a good night and keep it crafty folks!
Kristin
