Catnip Pillow :: Free Sewing Pattern

Well here is the second pattern of August. It’s a little pillow that you can sew up with little scraps of fabric and fill with rice and catnip or other herbs. My boyfriend, Jason, donated some pictures of his cat, Molly, playing with it. She goes from sweet “aww, you are my best friend” to psycho cat “I’m going to rip this thing to shreads and rah!!”

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I hope you enjoy!

There are 2 weeks left to enter the drawing for a free kit for any pattern, just leave a comment and you are in. If you have made a crafty leftover pattern, send me a picture and you will get a special prize (like random buttons, fabric, yarn, ribbon, and such).

Happy Crafting!

  1. hahah – Love the pics and the project! Almost makes me want to get a cat…

  2. Lovely cat! I would love to give my cat something like that, I don’t think she has ever smelled catnip, but I’ve heard about the effects it has on cats! :-)

  3. That is a really cute idea, I don’t have a cat but I have a friend who does!

  4. I love this idea. I have also made these for our cat by using babysocks as the pouch. way to re-cycle.

  5. Great idea! I too have used old socks filled with catnip and fiberfill for the cats’ amusement. I think they like the big adult sock size so they can kick and chew it at the same time.

  6. Instead of rice, try flax seeds. They are slippery and slide around making the sacks feel smooth and soft like velvet. I use them for making the heating pads. I make small ones for sinus headaches and they feel just heavenly.

    Meow to the cute kitty. =^..^=
