Home Redress: What? I have a patio? I sure do!

This was about the easiest patio installation ever! And by that I mean all I had to do was uncover it. It was one of those unknown treasures. The people selling the house didn’t know it was there and didn’t include it in the house listing. When I was poking around in the backyard I saw a buried brick. Then another. Then I started poking harder with a shovel and found that it was a complete brick patio hidden by years of creepy charlie.
Home Redress: Final Moving, Unpacking, and Making Room
This past weekend was not a weekend for projects. Instead, it was the final push to get 100% out of the apartment + get it super cleaned up for the new folks moving in. We tried our best, but, wow, was that carpet a mess–from before we even moved in. Our basic plan was to [...]
Home Redress: A Weekend of Projects and Moving

This past weekend my folks came up to help us move, fix things up around the house, and hang out and have a little fun. My folks went above and beyond helping us get things done around the house. Honestly, the things that they helped with would have been left undone for I don’t know how long.
Hanging Around the Clothesline
When I was a kid my neighbor had one of these sweethearts and I’ve always wanted one for my very own. What a funny kid I was. Well, now I do! It was in extreme tangled disrepair. So last week I woke up early one morning and snip, snip, snip it was all off. Well shoot, how in the world do I restring this thing? It turned out to be very simple and intuitive.
Home Redress: A new home a new series!

Before it’s always been “Apartment Redress.” Now that we are living in a house, I’ll continue the redress projects in my home. :)
First though, I want to give you an overview of the place. Today’s post is going to show what it looks like now. As we fix things up, I’ll post about it.
Redress, Donate or Recycle

I hope to find a use for every single scrap of clothing and office supplies, but it’s a little unrealistic. An item that frustrates and annoys me may be the perfect thing for someone else.
Studio Redress: Drawer Divider
Look at that mess. Sure it’s not horrible. At least it’s all in one drawer. But it could be a whole lot better and my friend Aimee got it into her head to set things straight. And check this out, organized! And I found out I have a bunch of neat stuff that has not made its way into the shop.
Getting Organized: Yarn Scrap Explosion!
Yikes! Look at that pile of tangled up mess. I have a bin that’s specifically for leftover yarn and over the last few months I’ve been slipping a little bit of this and that in and out of it. When I went to find a particular ball of yarn a few weeks ago, I found [...]
Redress: New Studio Check in Part 2
It’s been a month or so since I moved out of my home studio and into the office space. I decided to leave a workspace for myself at home so I could work on my painting and drawing there. Mainly my more messy crafts–dyeing, basket weaving, painting, paper making, collage, etc.–are all done at home [...]
Redress: New Studio Check in Part 1
It’s strange to think that I moved into my studio just 2 (well, okay, getting closer to 3) months ago. How could I ever have done Craft Leftovers without it? And how could I have lived and cooked with it all smashed into every nook and cranny of the apartment? This is a two part [...]
