A few of my favorite things: Ornaments!

I love making handmade ornaments and this week, the internet craftdom has been ripe with great ornament patterns!

artichoke

Aren’t these just beautiful? The way the fabric is cut up and pinned makes them wonderful for using up scraps. You can get the tutorial on Knitty Gritty Thoughts. This one is my particular favorite. Keri has such a great design sense. She takes wonderful photos and every pattern she puts out is a gem. I was so excited when this artichoke tutorial popped up in google reader!

Argyle_Applique_Ornament

I’m such a fan of argyle that this little guy is a sure fire must make for this year’s tree. You can get the tutorial on So September. I saw it first over on Craft, love that website!

icing

I know this one isn’t quite a “craft leftovers” project other than the strand of yarn for the tie, but it was so pretty and neat that I just had to share it with you. Maybe leftover cooking stuff? Or at least it’s a dig-around-in-the-pantry and make these kind of project. Anyway you slice it, it’s a great handmade addition to any tree. You can get the tutorial over on Na Miotle (which is totally going into my rss feed!). {via Craft Gossip}

And then here are two projects I posted here on Craft Leftovers in ’08 around this time of year. Make your own popcorn garland (it’s not as easy as you might think) and there are some fun templates for making paper snowflakes (one of my other favorite Christmas time activities).

Oh, on a random note, I finally finished adding all the blogs I read to the “blogs I read” page. Oh and I changed it so it’s a drop down under “about.”

Happy Crafting!
Kristin
